The program PREVEN of the Unit of Epidemiology, STI and HIV, Faculty of Public Health and Administration, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, and the Provincial Municipality of Tumbes have established an agreement of institutional cooperation for the execution of the online course “Extending Borders in the Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections”. The online course is directed to health professionals including chemical pharmacists, technical professionals of pharmacy, and others for the appropriate management of frequent STI cases (including recognition of STIs, partner management, recommendations on the use of condoms, counseling and referral to health services). The online course is now being developed only in the city of Tumbes with plans for its replication in other cities throughout the country.
